Steel Pipes Case Study

Directional Drill - South Staffs Water (CASE STUDY)

Frazer & Tabberer were heavily involved, alongside Walter Lawrence, on the following project.
Customer:  South Staffs Water
Contractor Walter Lawrence
Site Location Himsford - Himley pipeline
Date: April 2001

FT Pipeline Systems recently supplied Fuchs pipe to South Staffs Water for use in their Himsford to Himley pipeline.

This stretch of pipeline involved 3 directional drills and had to pass underneath 3 rivers.  Due to the difficult nature of the directional drilling, the client wanted pipe that would never corrode.

Fuchs pipe was the only company able to meet these requirements. The pipe was cement mortar lined with copon seal coat to DWI 25(1) (a) standard and coated in blue, 3-layer polyethylene.

The joints were protected with Canusa TBK kits.
