Locking Lids Case Study

Severn Trent Water Locking Lid Replacement (Case Study)

The Problem:

In January 2002, the Coventry depot  of Severn Trent Water were experiencing major problems of teenage vandalism to stop tap lids in their area.

The Action:

The stores supervisor contacted Frazer and Tabberer to discuss the problem.  Our Sales and Technical Manager visited the Coventry depot, and from photographs taken, identified which of our replacement locking lids were required and then returned to the area that same afternoon and replaced 20 defective lid tops.

The Result:

12 months later, all the lids were still intact.  A comprehensive survey was then undertaken, free of charge, by Frazer and Tabberer, to:

a) identify the types of surface box Severn Trent Water have, and

b) identify which sizes were likely to be damaged
Stock was then put in, which is regularly replenished every month.
