Locking Lids Case Study

Thames Water (Case Study)

Thames Water have been installing FT Pipeline Systems unique Locking Replacement Lids for over four years saving in excess of £100,000 a year in The Provinces.

Due to the range of sizes available, 65% of all defective street furniture works are fixed first time by installing a Locking Lid. The range includes stop taps, meter boxes and sluice valves. Also available are drop-in replacement lids for larger chambers.

The simple installation technique of the Locking Lid leads to a quick and easy first time fix for defective street furniture, saving on average £70 a time.

Use of the lids has recently expanded to South London resulting in an Agreement being drawn up between the two companies.

“The cost of replacing a surface box, even a stop tap cover, can be very expensive. Introducing the use of Locking Lids as a no dig alternative has saved Thames Water £125,000 in the last 12 months”. Team Leader, Provinces
