Frazer & Tabberer has been supplying products (steel water pipes, jointing sleeves and a range of stop-tap replacement locking lids) to the UK water industry for over 25 years. We are the sole UK distributor for Salzgitter Mannesmann Line Pipe (formerly known as Fuchs Rohr) steel pipe.
Over 50 years ago, Fuchs Rohr was the first steel mill in Europe to introduce welded steel pipe with 100% three layer corrosion protection into the gas industry. This was a massive change of direction for an industry dependant on traditional cast iron products. Historically, the relatively small market share of steel pipe in the water industry is due to the fact that production capacities have largely been deployed to meet the demands of line pipe for fossil fuels. However this is now changing as water companies and their contractors are realising the huge cost and longevity benefits of using steel pipes, with sales steadily increasing accordingly.
Frazer & Tabberer’s products have been developed over the years to meet customer requirements and the necessary regulations within the UK water industry. Our cement mortar lined, plastic coated steel water pipes are available in an extensive range of diameters (from 80mm to 2000mm) and joint types (socket weld, socket weld taper, butt weld, tyton push-fit connections and the Frazer & Tabberer E joint). The superior specification makes these pipes first choice for contaminated and aggressive ground conditions.
Marketing alongside the steel water pipes is the high quality Canusa jointing sleeves, which form a permanently bonded watertight seal on all diameters of pipe. Their flexibility ensures perfect seals on straight runs, junctions and bends.
Our unique anti-vandal locking lids cover a wide range of sizes. Introduced almost 3 decades ago, these low-cost rapid replacement lids dispense with the requirement for surface reinstatement and save water companies significant annual expenditure.
