Butt Weld Joint

Diameters:

80mm – 2000mm
Steel Grades: ST37, ST52, API, ASTM A106, X42, X52, X60
Linings: Cement Mortar Lining to DWI 25 (1) (a), DWI 31 (4) (a), and Epoxy Lining to DWI 31 (4) (a).
Protection: Blue 3 Layer PE; 3 Layer PP (both 1.8-4mm thick depending on OD); FBE (500 µm thick). Sewage pipes would be black in colourr.
Uses: Potable Water & Sewage Sludge with (Acronal cement mortar).
Internal Repair: Required. Cement mortar and epoxy repair kits held in stock.
Pressure Rating: 1-150 bar depending on steel grade, OD and wall thickness.
Realistic Usability: Sizes above 900mm where man entry is allowed for internal joint repair.
Joint Type: External Butt Weld joint.
Fittings: Butt Weld fittings made to suit.
Aim: No corrosion, no leaks, no minimum longevity of life.
Soil Types: Ideal for all soil types because of complete corrosion protection.
Extras: Cement mortar rock shield for river crossings & rocky ground.

Fittings

Fittings to suit are available in all sizes (to BS 534). CAD drawings provided. Tyton fittings available up to 300mm OD. All wall thicknesses are the same as the pipes. All coatings & linings are the same as the pipes.

  • Internal linings for potable water are in accordance with DWI 25 (1) (a) and 31 (4) (a).
  • Internal linings for wastewater are in accordance with DIN 2614

Coatings

It is recommended that pipe joints are protected with Canusa Heat Shrink Sleeves which are available from FT Pipeline Systems. CanusaWrap CPS Sleeves to DIN 30 672 for field joint corrosion protection.

  • 2 layer sleeve or 3 layer (with epoxy).
  • Different sleeves for different operational requirements.
  • Easy and quick installation on steel, ductile and plastic.
  • High shrink or low shrink.
  • Maximum pipeline operating temperature120ºC
  • Widths 300mm, 450mm, 600mm and specials by request.
  • 2.2mm - 3.3mm recovered thickness.
  • Excellent resistance to circumferential forces, soil stress and axial pipe movement.
  • Main line coating compatibility: PE, PP, FBE, Bitumen.
  • Softening point tested to ASTM E 28.
  • Lap shear tested to DIN 30672 M.
  • Tensile strength and elongation tested to ASTM D638.
  • Hardness tested to ASTM D2240 Shore D.
  • Dielectric voltage breakdown tested to ASTM D149.
  • Impact and indentation and peel strength tested to DIN 30672.
  • Cathodic disbondment tested to ASTM G8
