Q.  Are FT steel water pipes suitable for Potable Water?

A.  Both our cement lined and epoxy lined pipes are in accordance with the DWI 31 (4) a regulations.

Q.  Is there a recorded tensile strength for FT water pipes?

A.  The steel is to Grade ST37 which gives a tensile strength of 480N/mm².

Q.  What is the outside corrosion protection?
A.  3 layer hot applied polyethylene coating to DIN 30670, consisting of fusion bonded epoxy base, fusion bonded epoxy adhesive primer and P/E layer.

Q.  Which fittings are compatible with FT pipes?

A. 80mm to 300mm pipes are deliberately made to suit standard Tyton ductile iron fittings.  For welded joints above 300mm, we fabricate the relevant fitting.

Q.  What lengths are the pipes supplied in?
A.  6m, 12m, and 13.5m lengths.

Q.  Is there a design life associated with FT pipes?

A.  100 year design life, in accordance with European standards.

Q.  You claim FT pipes are resistant to contaminants, please clarify?

A.  Total resistance to all organic, corrosive and inorganic contamination suitable for any classification of brown field site including; Arsenic, Chromium, Lead, Mercury, Copper, Nickel, Zinc, Cyanide, Phenols, Sulphate, Hydrocarbons, Sulphide, Sulphur, Benzines, Chlorides, Propanes, Methyl Bromide, Xylene, Tricloroethene, Polyaromatics.
